Staten Island
Thursday was cold and rainy and we took the day off but Friday we went to Staten Island. We took the Ferry from South Ferry and then the trains to the southern most tip to see the Conference House where and unsuccessful peace conference was held for the Revolutionary War. We walked the .8 of a mile to and from the train station to return to the northern coast of Staten Island to the Alice Austin Park to get the British view for the Battle of Long Island. It was breathtaking. We then walked
back the .6 of a mile to the train station back to the Ferry and home. Saturday was Conference and I attended the women’s session with 4 sister missionaries after we had dinner at “The Smith” where we had a tasting party and tried the Macaroni and Cheese.
